The Best (And Worst) Dresses on The Bachelor/The Bachelorette

By Victoria Robertson on July 6, 2015

We all love to watch “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” There’s just something about being able to watch other people’s dating drama that calls to us, making it one of the most infectious shows on television.

We know that most of the relationships aren’t going to work, we know that the show is very unrealistic and we also know that the fact the show goes through “casting” says a lot about what actually goes on when they pick these people.

But all that aside, we love it. So for the fans out there that love the show and fashion, here are the best (and worst) dresses on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.”

Best

Britt: Chris Soules’ Season

I know: I hate her too. But come on, that dress is absolutely killer. It’s form-fitting, the beads are in perfect position to be complimentary to her body type and it’s a great way to draw attention.

Hate her all you want, this is one of my favorite dresses ever on the show. And yes, that pains me to say.

Jillian: Jillian Harris’ Season

Jillian’s style was perfect throughout the season: rustic, fashionable and completely normal. This dress is the perfect end to the perfect fashion story.

While her choice in men may not have worked in her favor, this pale pink dress definitely did. Flattering, simple and not too flashy – thank you Jillian. I absolutely love this dress.

Emily: Emily Maynard’s Season

Again, you may not like her, but the girl has style. Throughout the show, her “southern belle” caricature was played upon, and sadly, it was done well.

She tended towards the sparkles as well as the muted pink colors, and it worked well in her favor. This dress accentuated her curves as well as drew plenty of attention, making it one of the best on the list.

Kaitlyn: Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Season

Kaitlyn is one of the most unique bachelorettes on the show, ever, and her dresses certainly speak to that. While she, like most other girls on the show, tend to wear an excessive amount of sparkles (be it beads or sequins), her choices are always bold and unique.

This cobalt blue dress is beaded all the way through, outshining Britt (literally). It’s bold, classy and absolutely stunning. Way to go girl!

Desiree: Desiree Hartsock’s Season

We all love Desiree; she’s a sweet girl that designs wedding dresses for a living. I mean really, how perfect is that?

Her dress choices are bold, as she does design them, and while this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, this dress was beautifully designed (by her, I might add).

The blue is very complimentary on her, and the simplistic bottom in contrast with the busy neckline changes this dress from drab to fab.

DeAnna: DeAnna Pappas’ Season

She may not be one of the most memorable bachelorettes, but this dress is perfection.

The very subtle ombre along with the very rarely chosen green dress makes it stand out. The neckline, the fabric, the simplicity: it all works for her.

Whitney: Chris Soules’ Season

I love this dress. Very rarely do the women on this show go this classy, but Whitney pulled it off perfectly.

The neckline is unique and absolutely stunning, and the shape of the dress is so complimentary to her body it’s unbelievable. Plain black is seldom worn on the show, and this was a great time to do it. Well done.

Worst

Andi: Andi Dorfman’s Season

This is an interesting dress, and it certainly isn’t the worst on this list, but for an opening night as the new bachelorette, I think Andi fell a little short here.

The dress is extremely busy with several different patterns going on. I think if all the clutter was removed from this dress, it would’ve been simple, classy and perfect for Andi’s figure.

But look at it: how do you get past all that clutter?

Sharleen: Juan Pablo’s Season

Here’s yet another woman that wasn’t all that liked on the show, and for good reason. But that aside, this dress is just awful.

The saggy top does nothing for her, and the color doesn’t even make up for it. Why you’d choose this dress for a first date, I don’t know.

Ashley: Ashley Heberts’ Season

I love Ashley, but I’m not a huge fan of the dress. It’s not terrible, but the top of the dress does nothing for her, or for me.

The very thin strap is pretty pointless in many ways, and the dress falls flat because of it.

Had the dress been complete with a strapless, sweetheart neckline, I think it would have worked. But as is, it just isn’t great.

Ali: Ali Fedotowsky’s Season

While the color was the perfect choice (as yellow is certainly a color that works on her), this dress is yet another that just seems to fall flat due to the poor design on the bust.

The ruched fabric on top isn’t very flattering, which is a shame, because she’s an absolutely gorgeous girl.

Nikki: Juan Pablo’s Season

This dress is terrible. If you were going to meet the man you want to marry, with hopes he’d propose, is this what you’d wear? The dress is slit on both sides all the way up, and is extremely low cut.

But hey, it all worked out: she didn’t get a proposal anyway, and “winning” Juan Pablo isn’t exactly a “win.” So the trashy dress was actually used on the perfect occasion I guess …well done?

Michelle: Brad Womack’s Season

Just…why?

Has she never seen the show before? Women are supposed to show up in stunning, elegant dresses, and she chooses a dress barely fit for the beach.

The patterns, the colors, and the style of the dress itself: all no. Just no.

Britt: Britt Nilsson’s Almost Season

It’s only fitting that she’s on the bottom of this list as well as the top. While she may be beautiful, this dress is revealing of how ugly she can be.

This may just be the worst dress of Bachelor history. Seriously.

So there you have it: the best and worst of Bachelors past. If you’re ever on the show … please dress to impress. And change it up – enough with the sparkles.
