Lavender Is The New Black
Pastels aren’t just for Easter anymore! Pastel shades have been a staple of the winter season, and can easily be incorporated into your spring wardrobe. But of all of the shades, lavender is definitely the color of the moment. And the best part about it? Lavender looks beautiful on all skin tones and with every hair color. Here are a few tips on how to incorporate lavender into your wardrobe and living space.
Clothing
Not sure where to start? Try on this lavender peplum tank from Urban Outfitters. The color isn’t too bright, so it’s a nice way to try out the trend within your comfort zone. The top can be dressed down with your basic jeans or dressed up with a bandage skirt, a killer pair of heels and a sharp blazer for a night out.
With the right amount of edge, you can liven up a lavender-centric outfit without totally looking like wedding cake. A pair of lavender skinny jeans, like these from Forever 21, looks great with neutrals for spring. They can also be paired with studded boots and lots of black to accentuate the lavender color.
For those a bit more daring, an all-over lavender-colored dress will stop people dead in their tracks. This one from Free People is gorgeously pigmented and super thin, so it’s perfect to layer with in the colder months and the best thing to wear during the hot and humid summer. Definitely worth the investment.
For the most daring of ladies…
Head to your nearest hair salon and dye your hair lavender like Kelly Osbourne. You can also dip-dye your hair a la Christina Aguilera; she’s wearing lavender eye shadow too.
For the busy girl on the go…
You can totally rock these headphones from Urban Outfitters. Everyone on your bus/train/plane will be purple with jealousy (that’s a thing, right?). Throw on your watch and spritz some perfume.
And for anyone who just wants to brighten up their room:
This Dormify canvas is just too cute to pass up. It may not be totally lavender, but it’s ombré and super adorable. How could you not want it?
