Greetings! Are you wondering why I included TRUE BUSINESS in the title? TRUE BUSINESS is an ASL idiom that means "seriously, legitimately, wholeheartedly." I am sincere when I say I love ASL. :)
My name is Sharon, and I am a sign language interpreter for a public high school. I work in a classroom with a Deaf teacher that instructs hearing students to learn American Sign Language. I live in the Alexandria area, but am willing to travel to Falls Church, Fairfax, Arlington, D.C., and surroundi...
Absolutely amazing teacher. I really loved the 1st class and can't wait for the next one! :) Sharon answered all the questions that i had. We started signing on 1st class, which was pretty cool since i was so eager to start learning! Thank you, Sharon!

Sharon helps me with my reading in anthropology. She is also very knowledgeable about the Deaf and Hearing world which helps me work out some questions to be used in a project I am working on. So glad to be able to have a tutor who knows ASL.

We have been very pleased with Sharon C. who tutors our 11th grader in ASL. They use the "Signing Naturally" curriculum and my son has gained a base of knowledge that has contributed his being more confident in his communication ability and has resulted in his grades improving considerably. Sharon is very flexible - if we need to change the tutoring schedule to coincide with a test or project she has been very willing to adjust her schedule. Sharon has not only taught using the Fairfax County curriculum but she has also been fantastic about teaching her student about the deaf culture - this information has been invaluable to him! We highly recommend Sharon.

Sharon was AWESOME!! Very knowledgeable and excited about ASL, which is a great asset. I couldn't have found a better tutor/teacher.

Sharon helped me with an upcoming ASL presentation I had. She also did practice with me on fingerspelling and dates (which I am struggling with). I signed with my teacher the next day and she said she can see improvement already. I highly recommend Sharon! She is very flexible too! Thank you WyzAnt!

My friend and I have been using her for a month and have picked up a lot. She uses strategies that are very helpful in remembering words. We have a deaf friend that comes and watches our lessons and she has learned alternate signs for certain words as well. We always have fun at our tutoring lessons!

Well organized and good understanding of knowledge foundations to be taught. Adapted her lesson plan well to peripheral questions while teaching. Communicates ideas clearly and provided supplemental study item for individual learning. Thanks Sharon!

Sharon did not waste any time, her class was interactive and kept my daughter interested. She was prepared and even handed material for my daughter to practice. Not an improvised class.

Ms. Sharon is a great tutor, I feel more confident with signing after just one session. She gave me solutions to areas I was struggling with. She makes it very easy to learn and remember different signing expressions. I'm excited to have her as my tutor.
