5 Signs You Should Get Your Life Together
The end of another semester is approaching, as if you weren’t aware. *Cue panicking.* Over the span of a few months, you deal with classes, work, relationships, and somehow always making time for your newly favorite binge watching show on Netflix. Stress is through the roof, as if it needs to be said, and nothing seems to be going to plan. Below is a list of five things showing that you just may need to get your life together.
1. Your Apartment is a Disaster:
It’s one thing to have a messy room. It’s an entire other story to have a completely messy house. As they say, your neatness represents you, or something like that. If you have a week old pile of dirty dishes collecting mold, dirty laundry that can clothe a village, and you can’t seem to find anything anywhere, time to make a change buddy. A major change.
2. You’re Prioritizing the Wrong Things:
We all know that school is important, but in order to play hard, ya gotta work hard. Yes, the pool is tempting. Yes, going out on a Monday makes a great Mystory. And yes, sleeping in never seems like a bad idea. You have to keep up with school and work, all while making time to relax and hang with friends. It’s a struggle. P.S. Going out for a week straight is NOT a priority.
3. Forgetting You’re in College to Learn:
Remembering why we attend school can sometimes be forgotten. If you can’t recall, just call mom and dad and they’ll be sure to remind you the current going rate of tuition. There are various enticing aspects of college. There’s the parties, tailgates and long (or short) lasting relationships and friendships. Can’t forget the all-nighters, sucky roommates, and of course ridiculously hard exams though.
4. Your Parents Can Tell:
Parents know best, at least that’s what they say. If they can sense your anxiety and disordered life 500 miles away, you may need to start transitioning your beloved lifestyle. Venting to them is always necessary, but just be prepared that they may start spewing back fire. Ya know, how you chose to go out knowing you had an exam at 8 am. Or how you spent your grocery money on a new pair of highwaisters that you had to have. Just keep in mind, anything is open for discussion. Anything.
5. Failing at Maintaining a Stress Free Mindset:
If you know more about what’s going on in the world of social media than what’s actually occurring in your lessons, that’s not good, to say the least. You’re allowed to have indulgences in things that lack heavy weight. For instance, your favorite show, bar, or restaurant. The key is not allowing them to take precedence over the things that really matter. No stress makes for a nice, organized life. And that’s the point of it all, right?
Everyone knows that college is anything but easy. There just doesn’t seem like enough time in the day to do everything that possibly needs to get done. Anxiety can stem from different areas, but it shouldn’t encompass you. Take a breather, eat some fries, and call mom. The good news is that it’s never too late to start getting your hectic life together, or at least trying to.
