14 Fun Things To Experience In Las Vegas This Spring Break

By Jessi Stickel on March 3, 2016

If you plan to go to Las Vegas on spring break, check out these great free activities as well as experiences worth spending money on.

Free Things To Do

Walk the Strip

There are so many shops and hotels on the strip that are worth walking through. The entire Las Vegas strip is about seven miles, so you can spend a whole day walking down and back if you want to.

The Bellagio Fountain Water Show

This show is featured in many films and is worth seeing at least once while you’re there. The 15 minute water show goes along with different songs every half hour. Seeing the fountains at night is the best.

People watch

Vegas at night is full of drunk and interesting people, so grab a spot at an outdoor eatery and be entertained … for free!

Fremont Street

Fremont Street is known to be the “old Vegas” since it was there before the bigger and more populated strip. However, it is full of casinos, hotels, live music, shops, restaurants and wild people. They also have light shows on the screen above the strip at night. It is fun to experience this part of Vegas at least once, although it does get very crowded on weekends.

Hard Rock Hotel

The Hard Rock Hotel has tons of artifacts from various musicians and singers all through its halls. If you are into music, this is almost like a free museum to walk through where you’ll maybe see a guitar that your favorite band used.

Coca-Cola Store, M&M World, and Hershey Store

These stores are so interesting because they literally have everything in their particular brand. Even if you aren’t planning on buying anything, you should walk through them. You will be amazed about what you see, from Coke bottle earrings, to M&M underwear to a Reese’s purse.

Street performers

By the time you leave Vegas, you will have seen at least 15 street performers. Sometimes they are just straight up weird, but some of them are really great at dancing, doing magic or spray painting. This is nothing you will see at home.

You should check out some of these performers — if anything it will give you a funny story to tell.

Caesar’s Palace

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and huge! You could probably spend at least two whole days just in this building; plus, there is a mall attached to it. There are luxurious shops and restaurants and of course, a scene of “The Hangover” was shot right in the main lobby.

Silverton Hotel & Casino Mermaid Tank

The Silverton Hotel is actually not located directly on the strip, but it is about a five minute drive or so. Inside the hotel, Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (ATM) from “Tanked” built a 117,000 gallon salt water tank that is home to over 5,000 fish. You can stare at this tank for hours and still be amazed. They also have a “real” mermaid that goes in the tank at certain times of the day, which is also unique to see.

This hotel is also connected to a Bass Pro Shops, so if you’re traveling with any men, you probably won’t have to convince them to go to this one.

Experiences Worth The Money

SlotZilla Zip Line ($20/25-$40/45)

http://vegasexperience.com

You may have seen the video of someone zip lining over part of Vegas, and if you ever get the chance to, it is a must. There are two ways you can zip line over Freemont Street: you can do the sitting shorter version called “The Zipline,” where you are sitting in a harness and go over half of Freemont street, or you can do the whole street while lying down called “The Zoomline.”

The Zoomline is more in price and you must be at least 100 lbs in order to ride it. You also should leave about a two hour opening in your schedule since you will be waiting in line at least an hour on a busy night.

Learn more and watch a video of the zip line ride here.

The Blue Man Group ($80+) or the Jabbawockeez ($63+)

If you want to see a show, but aren’t really sure which one to see, the Blue Man Group and the Jabbawockeez are great options to consider since almost anyone can enjoy it. Both of these shows are fun and for any age group.

Find more about the show and tickets at Vegas.com or check out the ticket booths on the street for last minute shows.

“Tanked” Tour ($40-80)

If you have ever watched the television show “Tanked” on Animal Planet, this tour is a must. The tour guides you through the whole home of “Tanked” including the shop where ATM creates the tanks, and the offices of ATM employees that are featured in the show.

You’ll even get an insight of what is to come in future seasons of “Tanked.” In their gift shop they have a number of tanks with many exotic fish. If you are really lucky you’ll even get to meet Bret and Wayde (the stars of the show), who may pop up on your tour. This tour can be for the whole family and is extremely interesting if you like and watch the show at home.

You can visit Groupon to get tickets for $32.

Last week, I took the Tanked tour and got lucky enough to meet Brett & Wayde both! What an amazing experience.

There is always a famous artist in Vegas and they have concerts several nights a week when they are in town.
